With deep sorrow, we share the passing of Sonya Sukaly, age 46, who left this world too soon and unexpectedly. To know Sonya was to love her. She was a woman of grace, kindness and strength and her loss leaves an ache impossible to measure.
For 17 years, Sonya proudly devoted herself to nursing — a calling she poured her whole heart into. She worked tirelessly to attain her MSN degree, strengthening the skills that made her such a remarkable nurse and caregiver. She recently was a professor at Community College of Allegheny County School of Nursing, where she enjoyed her students and coworkers. Those who worked alongside her will always remember her steady hands, her calm warmth, and her unwavering way of showing up when people needed her most. Her dedication was more than a profession; it was a reflection of her beautiful soul.
Sonya’s greatest joy, however, was her immediate family. She is survived by her husband John Sukaly, her beloved daughter Evangeline Davis, and her cherished granddaughter Astrid Joy, who brought her endless laughter and joy. She also leaves behind her twin sister and lifelong best friend Amanda Klobuchar and husband Paul Klobuchar, along with her nephew Aaron Boyle, of whom she was immensely proud, and her aunt Sherree Hack, who was like a mother to her. She was preceded in death by her mother Ginny Lee Raisley and her grandparents.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 15,2025 from 2pm until 5pm at the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect. The funeral service will be at 5pm in the funeral home.
Sonya was loved by more people than she could ever know, and her loss leaves a profound emptiness in all who knew her. Her laughter, her courage, her kindness, and her sparkling smile will live on through the memories she leaves behind. May her soul rest in peace. This is not the final goodbye. One day, when our stories here are complete, we will meet again — whole, joyful, unbroken.
