Richard “Doc” McKissick Jr

Richard “Doc” McKissick Jr, 65, of Butler passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025. He was born in Butler on August 28, 1960, to the late Richard McKissick and Janet (Vic) Weisenstein. Doc graduated from Butler High School and furthered his education at PTI in electronics. He was employed at Consolidated Communications. Doc had the largest, most generous heart in the world and was extremely proud of the family he raised. He loved to host big family gatherings and attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Doc enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. Doc was the beloved husband of Kathryn (Morris) McKissick, whom he married on June 12, 1999; father of Michele (Tom) Wells, Sarah (Ken) Kaib, and Joseph (Lauren) Wach; brother of Dave and Jim (Carol) Weisenstein, Shawn (Tracy) McKissick, Dan (Joellen) Weiss and Kathy (Jacques) Sevigny; grandfather of Joel (Kristen) Tebay, Tyler Mellish, Mark Fetters, Riley, Aiden, Joey and Addie Wach. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 1-3 and 5-6:30 PM at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD.
