The numbers for Pennsylvania’s December revenue collections are in, and they exceeded expectations.
Overall, the state brought in around $5 billion in General Fund revenue in December, around 5 percent more than anticipated.
According to Revenue Secretary Pat Browne, Pennsylvania is in a strong financial position halfway through the current fiscal year.
Sales tax, personal income tax, corporation, inheritance, reality transfer, and other general fund tax revenues were all higher than expected in December. Non-tax revenue and Motor License Fund numbers both came in slightly lower than expected.
Pennsylvania’s fiscal year began July 1st and concludes June 30th.
