The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection announced last year was a historic year for permitting in the Commonwealth.
According to the DEP, there were 40,000 permit applications and more than 116,000 inspections completed in the last year.
Officials say there were no permit back logs to start this year.
Governor Josh Shapiro said this was a major initiative of his administration; that included starting the PAyback Program, that would pay the cost of the permit application if a decision on the permit was not reached in a timely manner.
The DEP has yet to miss a deadline.
