As local residents look for an escape from the bitter cold, the Butler Area Public Library is offering a variety of upcoming activities.
On Saturday the library and the Tabletop Gaming Guild will host a Game Day from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for teens and adults in the Basement Meeting Room with a $1 board game raffle and $2 hotdogs with chips.
Also Saturday, from 11 a.m. to noon, members of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra will be sharing a story for kids preschool to 3rd grade as well as performing music to celebrate America in the Children’s Department.
The library will then launch the America 250 Book Club for kids from 1 to 2 p.m. Participants will learn about how this book club will work, and the upcoming schedule as well as receive a copy of the first book. The club will read three books, and meet monthly January to June, then again September to November with a special party in December.
Finally, on Monday the library will begin a book and movie sale fundraiser on the first floor with cash bargains on a variety of paperbacks, hardcovers, movies, and TV shows.
