High School Girls basketball from Monday:
–Seneca Valley defeated Woodland Hills 61-21 to remain unbeaten in Class 6A Section 1. The Raiders will keep an eye on the Butler game tonight as they maintain a one-game lead over Pine-Richland in the section.
–Mars-70 New Castle-18. Alexis Cashdollar scored 21 to lead the Planets.
–North Catholic-50 Knoch-31.
–Smethport-55 Union/AC Valley-50. In the game, Maddy Dehart became the first player in the history of the Union/AC Valley co-op to pass the 1,000 career point mark. She entered the game needing 19 points and scored 22 along with 14 rebounds. Dehart is the first AC Valley player to reach that career mark since all-time leading scorer Ellie Thompson did so in 2018.
–Karns City-50 Moniteau-26.
–Slippery Rock-71 Sharon-41. Madison Romanovich led the Rockets with 26 points. Brielle Jordan added 18.
Boys basketball:
–the Montour boys defeated Mars 56-42. The victory kept playoff hopes alive for Montour, who are now 5-6 in Class 5A Section 4. Mars fell to 5-5 in section play.
