Governor Josh Shapiro has once again joined a lawsuit against the Trump Administration, this time over abandoning recommendations for childhood vaccines.
The lawsuit includes 14 other states and challenges a memo from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last month that ignores evidence supporting the effectiveness of seven common vaccines.
The lawsuit also challenges the replacement of many members of the expert federal panel that has guided U.S. vaccine policy for decades in June of last year by Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr replacing them with vaccine skeptics.
The suit is seeking a declaration that Secretary Kennedy’s childhood vaccine schedule and ACIP appointments are unlawful.
