A Butler woman is facing charges for driving over 100 miles per hour while fleeing police.
Police pulled over a vehicle on West Cunningham Street last Friday around 6 p.m. after noticing the car had an expired registration.
The driver was identified as 38-year-old Victoria Baptiste. During the stop, a passenger got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Baptiste meanwhile took off in the car toward Main Street, going up to 115 miles per hour.
The chase ended in Venango County when police used road spikes to stop Baptiste’s car.
She is facing several charges for this incident including fleeing or attempting to elude an officer. Batiste is awaiting a preliminary arraignment.
Baptiste was previously charged in the overdose death of a Clarion County man in 2020. She later pled guilty to conspiracy drug charges and was sentenced to 36 months of probation.
