The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the New York Yankees 5-3 in Grapefruit League play. The Yankees built a 3-0 lead in the first three innings against Pirates starter Jose Urquidy, before they scored three runs in the fifth inning. Endy Rodriguez hit his second home run of the spring to lead off that inning. Konnor Griffin also doubled in two runs. The Bucs are now 12-5 in exhibition play. They have their final off-day of spring training today.
Team USA defeated Mexico 5-3 last night in the World Baseball Classic. Paul Skenes allowed one hit over four scoreless innings. He walked one and struck out seven. They face Italy tonight at 9pm on FS1.
