The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-2 Wednesday afternoon in exhibition baseball.
The Pirates host Atlanta tonight in Bradenton. First pitch is 6:05pm. Bubba Chandler will start for the Bucs.
Italy defeated Mexico 9-1 last night, allowing the United States team to reach the quarterfinals of the World Baseball Classic. The U.S. will meet Canada Saturday. Italy will face Puerto Rico. Mexico’s loss also eliminated the team from qualifying for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
