PIAA Girls basketball –
–North Catholic defeated Harbor Creek 63-51 last night in the Class 4A Second Round. Brady Wehner of North Catholic passed the 1,000 career point mark in the game. The Trojanettes will now face Blackhawk Saturday in the Western Region quarterfinal round.
–The Slippery Rock girls fell to WPIAL champion Oakland Catholic 63-36 in the Class 4A Second Round game. Madison Romanovich led the Rockets with 17 points.
The Mars hockey team lost to Quaker Valley 3-1 last night in the PIHL Class 1A semifinals.
The Butler JV hockey team defeated Mars 4-3 in overtime. Grayson Steadman led the Golden Tornado with a hat trick. Colby Doner scored twice for Mars. Butler will meet Upper St. Clair in the semifinals Monday at 6pm.
