Two potential solar energy projects in Jefferson Township will see some delays after an extension was requested and documents need to be filed.
On Monday, the township planning commission approved a 180-day extension for a solar development off Keasey Road. The land is about 80 acres and is currently vacant farm land. The reason for the delay is the solar company negotiating prices with the energy company. No word on when this issue could be solved.
The second is going to be located at the intersection of Winfield and Riemer Roads. The approval for the project was tabled due to needing a resubmission on the engineering review letter. But, officials with the township expect the plan to be approved at the next meeting, barring any further need for resubmission of documents.
