Rex Gibson, 73, of Butler passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026. He was born in Butler on December 19, 1952, to the late Nicholas and Fay (Mahood) Gibson.
Rex received his associates degree in computer science and worked in computer I.T. support. He was known for being a good neighbor, having a huge heart and was always willing to do anything for anybody.
Rex enjoyed trivia club and loved racing – spending every Friday at Lernerville Speedway. He was a member of the Elks and Masonic Lodge in Butler.
Rex was the beloved husband of the late Mary Jean Gibson; father of Gina (Mike) Miller; brother of Margaret (Clair) Cratty; uncle of Jodi (Chuck) Boory, Jamie Cratty, Judy (Andy) Stoops and Janet Murphy; great uncle of Kenneth (Amanda) and Michael (Savannah) Boory, Andrew and Austin (Becca) Stoops; great great uncle of Scarlett and Parker Boory. He is also survived by his dogs, Gracie and Sydney.
