A Butler man is facing charges after being accused of sending one person to the hospital by throwing a bottle of liquor at a woman in the City of Butler.
On April 1st police were called to the 400 block on West Penn Street for a person that was hit in the head with a bottle.
When officers arrived on scene the victim was semi-conscious and suffering heavy blood loss.
According to charging documents, the victim and suspect got into a verbal argument that turned physical when the suspect threw a bottle of liquor at the victim. A tourniquet was applied and the woman was taken to Allegheny General Hospital for their injuries.
One of the victims would later tell police they didn’t give an accurate description of the suspect due to a fear of harm from the suspect 28-year-old Justin Thompson. A child was also in the room in the room at the time of the incident.
Thompson was charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, and recklessly endangering another person.
He’s awaiting a preliminary hearing.
