Butler County is repurposing Community Development Block Grant funding to help with a Butler Township stormwater project.
Over $222,000 will be moved to Butler Township following a review by DCED.
The money was originally set aside for Summit Township to help pay for tap-in fees for a potential sewer project. However, that project never came to fruition which led to the DCED requesting the money be used for a different project.
The county is also challenging a DCED request for repayment of nearly $100,000 from the Butler County Housing and Redevelopment Authorities. The money was used for housing rehabilitation projects, however the documentation may have been lost due to flooding in the housing office.
