Pennsylvania is projected to bring in more money than originally estimated this year.
The Pennsylvania Independent Fiscal Office announced that revenue from the 2025-26 fiscal year will increase by an estimated $831 million. Next year also is projected to see an increase at an estimated $49.56 billion, which is up $789 million.
Although, revenue projections are higher than expected the state will still operate at a deficit of $4.8 billion and $5.6 billion over the next two years.
The final budget for 2026-27 has not been finalized, so if the budget is slimed down the deficient could be lowered.
