A local company is receiving more state funding to cut costs and improve air quality through a transition to vehicles that use natural gas.
The PA Department of Environmental Protection recently awarded an Alternative Fuel Incentive Grant of $300,000 to Vogel Disposal Service.
This money will allow for the purchase of 15 Class 8 CNG waste vehicles.
The DEP awarded a total of nearly $1.5 million to fund eight projects that will save nearly 800,000 gallons of gasoline each year.
Applications are being accepted for the next round of grants until October through the Alternative Fuel Incentive Grant website.
