Lawrence “Larry” O. Bennett, 85, of Butler passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026. He was born in McKeesport on February 21, 1941, to the late John and Christianna (Blush) Bennett. Larry graduated from Glassport Highschool and furthered his education at Taylor University. He was employed at Butler Memorial Hospital for 44 years.
Larry was known for being a great husband, father, provider and caretaker. He was a dedicated servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and member of North Main Street Church of God. And for many years he was the Special Olympics Tennis Coach in Butler.
Larry was the beloved husband of the late Judith (Nielson) Bennett, until her passing in June of 2025; father of Karen (Mark) Crossetti, Jonathan, James (Genevieve) and Benjamin Bennett; brother of William “Bill” Bennett and Vivian Malits; grandfather of Colton and Tyler Crossetti, Brendan, Connor and Haley Bennett.
Along with his parents and wife, Larry was preceded in death by his siblings, David and Allan “Duane” Bennett and Kathleen “Kathy” Mills.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 1-3 and 5-7 PM at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD. BUTLER, PA 16001. WWW.SPENCERDGEIBEL.COM.
