The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue did not meet expectations with May tax collections totaling $3.3 billion last month but the state remains significantly over estimate for the fiscal year.
Revenue from personal income tax was $1.2 billion for the month while sales tax in May totaled $1.3 billion.
The Motor License Fund received nearly $289 million for the month from gas and diesel taxes, as well as other license, fine, and fee revenues.
May collections were nearly 2% less than anticipated or about $65 million under estimate, but the fiscal year-to-date General Fund collections remain nearly $928 million or just over 2% over estimate.
