State police and PennDOT are teaming up to monitor driving in construction zones this summer.
It’s called Operation Yellow Jacket, and it’ll happen in Armstrong County over the summer.
Police will be monitoring drivers for things like speeding, tailgating, distracted driving, and other violations.
Operation Yellow Jacket is a part of broader effort to make work zones safer. Last year, there were nearly 1,400 crashes in work zones, resulting in 12 deaths.
