A few local schools have been chosen to receive state grant funding to help with school safety.
As part of the Targeted School Safety Grants for Nonpublic Schools Program, the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency has awarded 353 private schools, diocese schools, licensed private academic schools, nonpublic/non-licensed schools, and private residential rehabilitation institutions a total of over $19 million across a two-year project period for a variety of activities to improve school safety, security, and mental health.
St. Gregory Catholic School in Zelienople will receive $75,000, Summit Academy School has been awarded just over $69,000, and St. Luke Lutheran Church and School in Cabot will collect nearly $44,000.
