A federal program that provides additional food assistance benefits for children will start going out this month.
The SUN Bucks program provides extra funding for families and children while schools are closed. The program helps an estimated 860,000 children.
For most children, the SNAP like benefits will be made available automictically this week. During the summer months, recipients should expect an additional $40 per month for a total of $120.
But households that unsure if they need to apply for the additional benefits can visit here.
If you need to apply for the additional funds, you can do so through August 31.
