Roy D. Burns, 71, of Boyers, PA, passed away on June 20, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family.
Born on January 7, 1955, in Butler, Pennsylvania, Roy was the son of the late Charles Edward Burns and Ruth Catherine (Birckbichler) Burns.
Roy graduated from Butler High School in 1973. He honorably served our country in the US Navy. Roy worked as an HVAC technician at Slippery Rock University before retiring in January of 2014. He loved anything that involved being outdoors. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, camping, and most of all spending time with family.
He is survived by his five children, Daniel (Becky) Roy Burns, Regina (Robert) Pruitt, Jedidiah Burns, Stephanie (Johnny) Cox, and Nathaniel Burns. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Mary (Gene) Eiler; and one brother, Lawrence (Charlene) Vicario. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Sue C. Burns, whom he married on September 12, 1981, and who passed away on October 30, 2006.
Family and Friends will be received on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 2 pm to 5 pm at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
A funeral service will be held immediately after the visitation at 5 pm at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001, with Pastor Bob Hurd officiating.
