Cranberry Township is inviting kids and families to a couple special events later this week.
The Township Waterpark in North Boundary Park is hosting a Luau Lagoon event on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those attending will have the chance to win themed prizes while participating in hula-hooping or limbo contests, try out lawn games, and get pictures taken in a photo booth. The Cranberry Public Library will offer a craft station. Lilo and Stitch also expected to stop by to visit with younger guests.
Also on Thursday as part of the Stand Up to Drowning Campaign, the 17th annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is taking place at 7 p.m. at the Waterpark. Check in begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 6:50 p.m. For a 30-minute period, township swim instructors and staff from Goldfish Swim School in Wexford will offer free swimming lessons for kids ages 3 to 18. Regular swimming lessons are also offered all summer by Red Cross-certain lifeguards.
