One person is in custody after a woman was found stabbed to death in Armstrong County last night.
The incident happened on Schenley Road in Gilpin Township.
Our news partners at WPXI say police responded to a home and found one woman has died from a stabbing. Police were able to locate the suspect, 37-year-old Mengqi Zhang of Leechburg, at a nearby home where she put up a barricade.
Eventually, Zhang was taken into custody safely.
The victim was identified as 79-year-old Rosalind Cooper.
Zhang has been charged with criminal homicide and two counts of aggravated assault.
She was denied bail and was placed in the Armstrong County Prison.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 9.
