Police dogs may soon receive new drug identification training after a new law signed by the governor.
On Monday Governor Josh Shapiro signed a bill into law that will establish training standards for K-9 units to detect fentanyl.
The legislation will require medical professionals and veterinaries to develop protocols to minimize fentanyl exposure of the handler and dog.
The bill passed through the legislator with out a single vote against the bill.
