The Houston Astros have sent former Pirates pitcher Mike Burrows to their Triple-A team, the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, one day after he allowed a career high 10 runs in a 12-11 loss to Washington. The Pirates sent Burrows to Houston in the three-team off-season trade with Tampa Bay that brought second baseman Brandon Lowe to the Pirates.
For the Astros through 17 starts, Burrows is 4-9 with a 5.99 ERA. He had allowed 21 home runs in 94-2/3rds innings with 35 walks and 75 strikeouts.
