It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Tony L. French, who died peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born on October 22, 1940, in Jefferson, Iowa, Tony lived a life defined by love, hard work, and quiet strength. He devoted himself wholeheartedly to his family and faced life’s challenges with resilience and grace, always putting others before himself. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Cold War.
Tony was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest joy came from those he loved. His kindness, wisdom, gentle spirit, and steady presence will be deeply missed. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and integrity that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Cathryn Abbott (Paul), who faithfully cared for and stood by him throughout his life; his beloved son, Jeffrey French; granddaughter Caitlyn Yohman; and grandson Jacob Yohman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen French; his father, Homer W. French; his mother, Eleanor I. (Wampler); and his brother, Stephen R. French.
