Chicora will be receiving a $1.4 million loan from the state to help with a major waterline project.
State Representative Marci Mustello announced the borough will get the low interest loan through PENNVEST.
The loan will go toward installing 6,000 feet of new waterline throughout Chicora.
There will also be new meters, fire hydrant replacements, and other work near Buffalo Creek and the borough’s water tank in Donegal Township.
The loans through PENNVEST are at low-interests, allowing smaller municipalities to afford infrastructure improvement projects.
