The American Red Cross is once again sounding the alarm about the blood supply shortage impacting the country.
Officials say blood donations have fallen to a four-year summer low, which is making this season’s emergency blood shortage worse.
All blood types are needed, but there is an especially dire need for type O blood.
Upcoming local blood drive opportunities include Thursday from 12:30 to 6 p.m. at Glade Run Church in Valencia as well as August 10th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the VA on North Duffy Road. You can find a full list of blood drives on the Red Cross website.
