Mars high school graduate Piper Coffield was honored Wednesday by the USL W when the league announced its Conference Awards for the season. Coffield is team captain of the Pittsburgh Riveters and was one of two Riveters named among eight Conference standouts. Coffield is a defender currently at Indiana University and logged 848 minutes during an undefeated regular season for Pittsburgh. Coffield 11 of 12 matches and scored three goals.
Also named alongside Coffield was forward Lola Abraham, a Riverview grad who currently plays at Pitt. She started nine of 12 matches and had two goals.
