A Lawrence County man has been accused home improvement fraud.
The victim told police he and 55-year-old Robert Connors of Ellwood City reached a verbal agreement worth $75,000 to complete a home remodel for his house in Harmony.
Connors was paid in October 2024 and cashed checks just days after receiving it.
When the victim tried to get in touch with Connors to complete the work, Connors did not reply and later said “you seriously are taking me to court?”
Connors has been charged with theft by deception and receive advance payment for services and fails to perform.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 2.
