A former candidate for governor and current state senator is taking the next step to possibly becoming an ambassador.
Doug Mastriano saw his nomination to be the next ambassador to Slovakia advance in the U.S. Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee. The nomination now moves to the full Senate.
Mastriano was the 2022 Republican nominee for governor.
He told reporters that he will continue to serve as a senator while the nomination process unfolds.
