The Pittsburgh Pirates snapped a three-game losing streak following a 13-1 victory over the Miami Marlins in Florida Thursday afternoon. Braxton Ashcraft threw a complete-game three-hitter, striking out 10 on just 85 pitches. The Pirates 16 hits in the game, four of the hits were home runs. Catcher Rafael Flores hit two home runs and drove in six runs. Jared Triolo and Jacob Gonzales added round-trippers.
Jake Mangum and Triolo had three hits each. Nick Gonzales had a walk and two singles. The two singles increased his multi-hit games to a major-league leading 48.
Braxton Ashcraft became the first Pirates pitcher to throw a nine-inning complete game since Mitch Keller against the Los Angeles Angels on May 26th, 2024. He is also the first Pirates pitcher to complete a game under 100 pitches since Ivan Nova did so against Miami in April of 2017.

Endy Rodriguez was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday morning, retroactive to August 10th, with left hip inflammation. He had missed three weeks in July due to an injury.
