Voters head to the polls today for a special election in southwestern Butler County.
Democrat Brandon Dukes and Republican Scott Timko are squaring off to be the next state representative for the 12th Legislative District.
There are 27 precincts open today; polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
There were also around 6,000 mail-in ballots sent out for the election.
The seat was previously held by Stephenie Scialabba, who resigned in March.
