The final race of the Nascar Cup Series will be staged Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway. Hear the race on WBUT beginning at 6:30pm. Tyler Reddick won the season-opening Daytona 500. Last week’s winner in New Hampshire, Ryan Blaney, is this weekend’s defending race champion.
Following the race, the top-16 drivers in the standings will be eligible for the overall series championship over the final ten races of the year. Denny Hamlin has already locked up the #1 seed in the post-season. Shane Van Gisbergen is currently holding the final playoff spot over Ryan Preece, Brad Keselowski and Ross Chastain. The first race of the playoff “Chase” is Sunday night of Labor Day weekend at Darlington Raceway.
