A man accused of firing a gun at a Beaver County gas station and then leading police on a chase through Cranberry earlier this year has been arrested.
The alleged shooter, 33-year-old Jalen Sims, is accused of opening fire at a driver filling up on gas on June 21 at a New Brighton gas station. Sims would then threaten the driver’s life to leave the scene.
Sims and the driver were spotted on Rochester Road in Cranberry before Sims fled on foot from a parking lot.
Wednesday morning, U.S. Marshalls announced Sims was taken into custody on Saturday in Sharon with assistance from the Mercer County SWAT Team.
Sims is also wanted on federal charges for violating conditions of supervised release for 2021 federal charges.
State charges for Sims include two counts of criminal attempt-homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of guns not to be carried without a license.
Bail information and preliminary hearing date has not been scheduled.
