A local lawmaker is continuing to support residents in several mobile home parks facing clean water challenges.
According to State Representative Aaron Bernstine, Connoquenessing Township, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and the State Office of the Attorney General are investigating compliance failures by Stackhouse Management.
Residents at Rolling Valley Estates are under a tier 1 ‘Do Not Drink’ advisory due to a failure of the park’s well-water system. Bottled water is being provided to residents and the DEP has issued a Public Water Supply Permit for emergency bulk water hauling to the park.
Connoquenessing Township has moved to enforce local penalties of up to $500 per day and the DEP has the authority to assess civil penalties of up to $5,000 per day for each violation. Residents of other Stackhouse properties, including Sandy Hill Estates in Middlesex Township, are also experiencing water issues.
