A new study by the Independent Fiscal Office is looking at the impact of reassessment on counties in the state.
As the possibility of reassessment looms for Butler County, this study analyzed four counties, including Beaver, that recently went through reassessment.
It found that in general, school district taxes went up one to two percent. In all four counties, assessed values went up by varying degrees. The median homestead tax also went up in all four counties.
Butler County has not done a reassessment in 57 years, which is the second-longest span between reassessments in Pennsylvania, only trailing Franklin County.
