A Clarion man has been charged in Butler County after stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of shingles from his employer then selling them for half price in Allegheny Township.
The incident happened back in May when 53-year-old Christopher Bradybaugh allegedly sold shingles to another man for $3,500 on Penn West Way. The victim allegedly saw the man that purchased the stolen shingles drive off and reported it to police.
When police spoke with the man that purchased the shingles, he was informed they were stolen. The shingles were then returned to the victim who placed the value of the shingles at $7,000.
According to charging documents, the victim accused Bradybaugh, who is a safety coordinator at the business, of stealing the shingles and several other items at his business, but could not prove it.
Bradybaugh has been charged with theft by unlawful taking, criminal trespassing, and receiving stolen property.
A preliminary arraignment is scheduled for October 1.
