The Pennsylvania Department of Health is confirming another measles-related death, bringing the total number to five in Pennsylvania.
The state confirmed the death happened to a resident of Lancaster County that was unvaccinated.
They also confirmed 40 new measles cases since Monday.
In total, 943 people have been infected, 176 people have been hospitalized, 39 counties have at least one reported case, and four vaccinated people have been infected, but that makes up less than one percent of cases.
Health officials advise everyone over the age six to be fully vaccinated with both doses to drastically reduce chances of hospitalization. More information can be found online through the state website’s Measles Dashboard.
