A Beaver County man that was part of a scheme that killed a Murrysville man in Butler County nearly three years ago was sentenced to life in prison earlier this week.
On Tuesday, 61-year-old William Fortuna was sentenced to life in prison for taking part in the killing of 57-year-old George Dayieb in December 2023. In June, Fortuna was found guilty of first-degree murder for his role in the killing.
According to charging documents, Dayieb was traveling to collect a $400,000 loan payment from Jeremy Fisher but was shot and killed while in the passenger seat of a pickup truck along Route 422. Dayieb’s body was then left at a Clarion County campsite.
Fisher is awaiting trial in May and a third man involved in the killing, Fisher’s nephew Braden Elliott, in exchange for his testimony he pled guilty to third degree murder.
