Motorists who use a local roadway should be aware of work planned to begin tonight.
According to PennDOT, beginning at 7 p.m. tonight, the rolling closures of the Route 422 Shearer Bridge in Butler and Summit Townships will run until 9 p.m. in 15-minute intervals.
Drivers will see the closures westbound from one mile in advance of the interchange with Routes 38 and 68. Inclement weather will push this work to tomorrow. An additional closure of Route 422 west is planned for next Wednesday (10/14) followed by Route 422 east the evening of October 19th.
This over $6 million bridge rehabilitation project is estimated to be completed in December.
