A Pittsburgh woman is facing charges in Butler County after being accused of attempting to break into a home and cutting someone with a knife.
The incident happened on Saturday on the 600 block on West Penn Street in the City of Butler.
Charging documents say, 19-year-old Alyssa Assenat attempted to come into the home but was stopped and began arguing with the victim. Someone in the home saw the two arguing and believed they saw a knife in Assenat’s hand.
The person came outside with the knife and saw the victim and Assenat were already fighting. Once the two were separated Assenat is accused of fleeing the scene. According to police the victim was bleeding on their left arm.
Assenat has been charged with burglary, simple assault, and loitering and prowling at night.
A preliminary hearing date has not been scheduled.
