Gas prices have dropped both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Butler as of yesterday is $4.73—which is an decrease of seven cents compared to last week.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by six cents to reach $4.64. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Washington at $4.50, while the most expensive is $4.73 in Pittsburgh, Mercer, and Butler.
The average national gas price dropped by 11 cents over the past week to $4.36 which concludes a record-setting September that had an average 50 cents higher than the previous September record in 2023. Gasoline demand decreased last week, but the price of domestic oil increased by about a dollar to just over $90 a barrel.
