Linda J. Wright, 79, of Butler, passed away peacefully at home on October 5, 2026.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories.
Born March 29, 1947 in Butler, she was the daughter of the late David Hemphill and
Dorothy (Troutman) Hemphill. She graduated from Butler Area High School in 1965.
She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Wright; two children Steven (Jessica)
Wright and Diana (Joseph) Skurka; three grandsons Jack and Sam Skurka and Alec
Wright; two sisters Donna Slomers and Betty Lokhaiser and a brother, Denny Hemphill.
She believed in FAMILY. Always putting everyone before herself. She treasured time
spent with her grandchildren and her extended family. Everyone could always count on
her as a source of support.
She believed in FRIENDS who were like family to her. She found joy in gathering
around a table to build puzzles, play games and eat chocolate!
She believed in HOME. Finding contentment watching the view out her picture window
and starting each day with a sweet tea and a little crocheting.
She believed “newer” wasn’t always better and loved to find a bargain. Her ability to
navigate sales and uncover hidden treasures was legendary amongst family and
friends. She was never buying for herself, she always had someone else in mind.
She believed in COURAGE. She showed this daily and often reminded us with her
words, “today is a good day”.
We believe your greatest legacy is the impact you made on those you leave behind.
Our lives are immeasurably better because of her. What a gift.
Her life was one well lived. May we continue to love like she did.
A private remembrance service will be held by the family to honor her life and memory.
Arrangements were entrusted to Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001.
All who knew Linda are encouraged to share memories and upload photos to her unique remembrance page at www.thompson-miller.com.
