A suspect is in custody following a bank robbery in Armstrong County.
The alleged robbery happened at the NexTier Bank on Route 422 in Manor Township yesterday morning around 9:30 a.m.
Charging documents say 57-year-old Robert Beers Jr. of Kittanning went to the bank tellers with a plastic grocery bag and a handgun. He demanded money from the tellers.
Beers then fled the scene on an ATV with over $3,300 in cash.
Police responded and talked with the tellers who identified Beers because he was a customer at the bank. Officers then went to his home in Kittanning, where he was taken into custody.
After being taken into custody, Beers told police where the gun and money was located, which police found.
No NexTier employees were injured and the branch was closed for the day.
