Several local students recently received recognition for participation in Butler Township’s annual Fire Safety Coloring Contest.
In connection with Fire Prevention Week, Director of Emergency Services Scott Frederick recently shared coloring sheets with the theme of “Charge into Fire Safety” with students in kindergarten through 2nd grade at several Butler Township Schools.
Two students from McQuistion were recognized as well as two more at Northwest and then two more participants from Connoquenessing Elementary School. Eash student received a certificate of achievement from the Commissioners and their entries will be displayed in the township building for the rest of this month.
Connoquenessing had the highest percentage of students participating so they were awarded the traveling trophy for the second year in a row.
