NASCAR issued a $50,000 fine to Cup Series driver Zane Smith after he rammed Carson Hocevar’s car during a post-race cool-down lap Sunday at Phoenix Raceway, and after ignoring orders to refrain from such antics. He had done a similar incident to Hocevar earlier this year. Although, this past weekend’s incident may have resulted from Hocevar being pushed into Smith’s car by another driver.
Makes this weekend’s “drafting” race interesting… The Cup Series drivers take on Talladega Superspeedway this Sunday with three races remaining in their playoff “Chase”.
