Alberta Hartzell Hoos, age 92, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Butler, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 in Ocala.
Born June 1, 1925 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Alison Suter and Joanne (Jennie) Suter Dyer.
Alberta was a 1944 graduate of Penn Township High School in Butler County.
She was employed by Armstrong Utilities in Butler from 1963 until 1977 when she moved to North Lauderdale, Florida, to manage an Armstrong office until her retirement in 1987.
She adored dancing and she enjoyed traveling through the United States and Europe.
She loved the Lord, and she was active in her churches, Calvary United Presbyterian Church in Butler and Ascension Lutheran Church in Ocala.
Alberta is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Eiler, of Saxonburg, and Linda Cuthbertson and her husband, Don, of Brunswick, Ohio; two stepsons, William “Bill” Hoos and his wife, Sandi, of Pennsylvania, and Jeff Hoos and his wife, Sandy, of Illinois.
She is also survived by seven step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, David F. Hartzell, who died in 1986, and her second husband, Herbert G. Hoos, who died in 2015; one son, David W. Hartzell, who died in 1966; one stepson, James Hoos; and one step-granddaughter, Danielle Hoos.
There is no visitation.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 27, at noon at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Rd., West Sunbury.
